Craig A. Evans


Craig A. Evans is a Christian Evangelical theologian and author. He gained his B.A. in history and philosophy from Claremont McKenna College, an M.Div. from Western Baptist Seminary in Portland, Oregon, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Claremont Graduate University in southern California..Evans is currently Payzant Distinguished Professor of New Testament and director fothe graduate program at Acadia Divinity College in Canada. Prior to his appointment at Acadia, he was visiting assistant professor of religious studies at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and for 21 years was professor of biblical studies at Trinity Western University, in Langley, British Columbia. He also was a visiting fellow at Princeton Theological Seminary. Evans is author and editor of more than 50 books. His most recent books include Christian Beginnings and the Dead Sea Scrolls, which he co-authored with John J. Collins, and Fabricating Jesus. Troy A. Miller of Crichton College in Memphis, Tennessee has recently edited a series of lectures delivered at that college by both Evans and NT Wright titled Jesus, The Final Days: What Really Happened. Evans also servews on the Advisory Board of the National Geographic Project on The Lost Gospel of Judas
